What my Clients say

I decided to breed from my Welch cob x TB mare because I knew I had expert help to hand - starting with the Stallion owner right through to the trainer willing to take on a youngster and his inexperienced owner! That trainer was Trudi Dempsey and we were so lucky to have her instruction at the very start…..”

Having been unable to find a local instructor to suit my needs I began working 'online' with Trudi. She has a very positive approach to training and I can't help but feel enthused by her passion for correct and sympathetic horse training…”

“Had I not met Trudi I would never have sat in the saddle again.  Sounds extreme but I can say that because I had lost heart in all the 'trainers instructors and tutors' who had amazing credentials and said they could help me resolve the issues, concerns and fears I had….”

“I treasured my training with Trudi”

- Sheila Forgham

The training of a horse, being an unnatural process, must respect the natural ways of a horse and embrace his spirit.

I can't recommend Trudi enough. I decided I wanted to re-train my horse using a more Classical approach and gymnastic training but I had no idea how to start out down that path. I had read books and watched DVDs so I knew what I wanted to achieve but still wasn't sure how to begin. From watching a few short clips of us working together, Trudi could see exactly where we needed to start; with the in-hand gymnastic work, which was completely new to me, and every time I sent her a video she pinpointed any problems and sent detailed, supportive feedback that helped me progress. She has a knack of seeing everything and always knew exactly what to suggest to keep us heading in the right direction. I felt that she developed a real understanding of the personality of my horse, an empathy with me and I could tell she was genuinely delighted every time we made a breakthrough. My horse, at the age of 17, has never been more willing to work with me and people have commented on how great she looks because of her muscle development. Finding a trainer like Trudi has been the most significant factor in all of the years I have spent looking after and riding horses. I'm so grateful and I am looking forward to us continuing to work together so that I can keep improving and achieving even more of my goals.

Trudi was Instrumental in getting the 'building blocks' firmly and correctly in place. Sometimes training youngsters can be slow and frustrating. Not so with Trudi! Our sessions were packed with fun exercises, thought provoking challenges, laughter and even sometimes tears! But there was always a good end and another 'block' in place.

I treasured my training with Trudi and was distraught when she decided to move to France; now I'm envious of those in Somerset who will be able to benefit from her expertise. A horse and rider can do no better than have Trudi by their side.”

The work plans she has created for me and my horse are clear and informative and the feedback is always positive and thought provoking.  The work is centred on having a relaxed, happy and motivated horse and now given the chance to shine my little horse is showing me just how much she has to teach me  - all with a little help from Trudi of course!”

“Had I not met Trudi I would never have sat in the saddle again.  Sounds extreme but I can say that because I had lost heart in all the 'trainers instructors and tutors' who had amazing credentials and said they could help me resolve the issues, concerns and fears I had.  They didn't and so I was obviously a lost cause and resigned myself to mucking out and grooming for others.  Trudi was different.  She acknowledged my skills and experience and that was enlightening.  More importantly, Trudi took the time to talk with me, not at me. Through those conversations I knew I had finally met the person who understood all of my issues, concerns and fears.  There were no false promises, just a genuine concern for me to ride again, ride well and have both horse and rider come together to create that magic that we all dream of.  Was it hard work and a little scary; yes.  Was I pushed outside of my comfort zone sometimes, yes:  Did I feel safe and confident enough to push myself that little bit further; of course but only because I was supported, understood and had Trudi on my side.  Trudi was and still is a breath of fresh air; and to this day is still an inspiration.”
